Found within Exeter's city centre, South Street Baptist Church has a congregation consisting of individuals from all different walks of life. The church allows members of the congregation freedom within choosing doctrines with no expectations of following a set of chosen church beliefs.
Weekly services take place each week on Sunday mornings, and the congregation are included in a wide range of meetings throughout the month. The community take part in home bible study sessions, a monthly book club meeting, and weekly coffee mornings.
The church runs a local café each week in South Street that works to provide affordable food and drink in a place where local people can meet, and offers voluntary employment opportunities to men who are in recovery from mental health problems.
The church family always welcomes new members to the church, as well as visitors who are looking for somewhere to worship. The congregation worship through song and prayer, and invite local university students to take part each week. Working closely with Exeter University, the minister for the church is also the Baptist Chaplain for the university, and as such he offers support to both the students and the staff.
The church fellowship is paired with another fellowship in the village of Brampford Speke, where they have a small chapel that is located just six miles away from Exeter.
