St. Margaret's Church, Topsham
Coming together to form the Mission Community of Topsham and Countess Wear, the churches of St. Margaret's and St. Luke's have a long history of working together, with St. Luke's formally being part of the parish of Topsham. As part of the Mission, both churches are brought together to combine experience, skills and knowledge within monthly joint worship, shared social events and bible study groups.
The Mission Community offers weekly services to their congregations, with St. Margaret's Church offering a Children's Church to help include children and young individuals into the Christian Community.
The place where St. Margaret's Church now stands has had a church on the site for over 1,000 years. The current church was consecrated in 1877 by the then Lord Bishop of Exeter, which followed a fire within the previous church structure in which only the tower had survived.
The church enjoys music from both the church's choir and the Nicholson organ, which was installed in 2009. The choir members are given the opportunity to be including within singing courses to improve their skills so to provide the best sound for members of the congregation and any visitors.
The church offers their space to the local community with regular events held within throughout the month, including parenting groups, fitness sessions, as well as unique events throughout the year.
