If you are seeking help with funeral costs, you may be eligible for Funeral Payment Benefits.

The benefit is intended to help out with cost for arranging the funeral and is recoverable from the deceased's estate if they have left one. Our friendly team here at Simple & Direct Cremations can help you through the process of claiming whilst offering our other services to help care for the deceased and of course, yourself the family. Below are a few steps to get you started on claiming Funeral Payment Benefits.

Step 1: What you'll receive

How much you get depends on your circumstances. The Funeral Payment can help pay for:

Burial Costs

Cremation fees, including the cost for the doctor's certificate

Up to £700 for funeral expenses, e.g. funeral director's fees, flowers, coffin etc

Travel to and arranging of the funeral

The costs for moving the body within the UK

If the deceased has taken out any pre-paid funeral arrangements, you can only receive help for arrangements not covered by the plan. In normal circumstances, if the funeral director has not been paid, the payment is given to them. On the other hand, if it has, then it will be deposited into your account.
