To receive Funeral Payment Benefits, you must first meet the regulations put forth.

You must be solely responsible for the funeral and must;

Claim in time (within 3 months)

Meet the rules put forth regarding the relationship with the deceased

Get certain benefits or tax credits

Bear in mind, the rules are different if the person died outside of the UK

It is possible to make the claim even if you are currently waiting for an existing decision on qualifying for benefits. The payment you receive also depends on your circumstances and any other money available, either from an insurance policy or the deceased estate.
